Company history and services.

The business was established in March 1983 by David, Norman and Margaret Grundy, essentially to provide on-farm service support to the local farming community. With David being a Case trained engineer, the majority of service work was to Case I.H. tractors and machines, but as the business developed and additional staff were employed we were able to undertake repairs and maintenance to a vast range of agricultural tractors and machinery.

As business grew and services expanded, a three-quarter acre site was acquired in 1985 at Five Mile Lane, Washingborough where a purpose-built unit housing workshops and offices were erected. The business still operates from these premises today. In 1992, the business enjoyed further expansion with the acquisition of the Case-IH agricultural franchise and two years later (in 1995), a showroom and warehouse facility were added to the original building. At this point the company employed nine staff.

In 2000, Darren Grundy, David and Margaret's son, joined the business as the third generation member of the family to be involved. The same year saw Case Corporation and New Holland merged to become a single company. In January 2004, Grundy Agricultural opted to change its franchise to McCormick in order to maintain a long-standing association with the Doncaster built (and former Case-IH) tractor products.

During spring 2006 the business embarked on a double diversification, equestrian supplies and the sales, servicing and repairs of lawnmowers and garden machinery. Darren Grundy manages and oversees the equestrian side of the business and carries an extensive range of tack, clothing, feed and all other equestrian essentials from leading manufacturers within our showroom at Washingborough.

We service and maintain all makes of lawnmowers and garden machinery, we are also authorised Hayter Dealers. 2008 saw the company celebrate 25 years of trading and the acquisition of the Deutz-Fahr agricultural franchise, a brand renowned for build quality, reliability and fuel efficiency. A range of tractors from 39hp to 275hp along with the TTV with continuously variable transmission, a range of handlers and combines gives us the ideal product offering to suit the farmers and contractors within our area.

The franchise is supported with our machinery suppliers, Amazone, Krone, Lemken, Teagle, Quickie Loaders, Weaving machinery and Rolland trailers. Whether buying a state-of-the-art tractor or agricultural machinery, a lawn mower or equestrian supplies, we at Grundy's pride ourselves on a friendly, professional and personal service you would expect of a family business.
